Generally used in the flooring and coating industries. It is an abrasion test done to measure the hardiness of a finish. The tabor rating is based on the number of revolutions a sanding disk with a specified force or weight applied to it takes to penetrate the underlying material. A greater number of revolutions equals increased wear resistance.
